Arrivals NYC ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we and our service providers process when you use our app or website, how that data is used, and the choices available to you. It applies to the Arrivals NYC Android app distributed through Google Play, and to our website at arrivalsnyc.levvit.cc.
Summary in plain English: We do not create user accounts. We do not sell your data. Your favorites and preferences stay on your device. We show ads through Ezoic, a Google Certified Publishing Partner, which uses cookies and similar technologies to display relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized ads through the consent banner shown on first visit or via your device's privacy settings.
The following information is stored locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to our servers or any third party:
You can clear all locally-stored data by using "Restart app" in Preferences, or by uninstalling the app.
When you use the app, our backend server in the United States (operated through our hosting provider, Fly.io) receives your requests — stop IDs, route numbers, search queries — and forwards them to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (MTA) public APIs to fetch live arrival data. We do not link these requests to any user identifier.
Standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, URL path) are kept by our hosting provider for up to 30 days for operational and security purposes — for example, to prevent abuse and diagnose issues — then automatically deleted. These logs are never sold or shared with advertisers.
The "Near Me" feature requires your device's permission to access GPS coordinates. When you grant permission and use this feature:

Arrivals NYC is free and supported by ads served through Ezoic, a Google Certified Publishing Partner. Ezoic and its downstream advertising partners (including Google and many others, fully listed at ezoic.com/ad-partners) may automatically collect and process the following when ads are shown:
This information enables contextually relevant advertising (such as local NYC services and transit-adjacent businesses) and helps measure ad performance. None of this data is shared with us in a way that personally identifies you.

On your first visit, a Consent Management Platform (CMP) banner — provided by Ezoic's privacy partner Gatekeeper Consent — appears so you can accept or customize your advertising preferences. Your choice is remembered for future visits. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser data and revisiting the app.
For users in regulated regions (EU, UK, EEA, Brazil, California, and other US states with privacy laws), the CMP provides granular opt-out controls in compliance with GDPR, UK GDPR, LGPD, CCPA, CPRA, and similar regulations.

Arrivals NYC is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
Because we do not create user accounts or store personally-identifiable information about you, there is generally no account-level data for us to access or delete on request. Your control over data therefore happens at the device level:
For users in regulated regions (EU/UK/EEA, California, Brazil, and others), additional rights may apply through Ezoic's privacy controls, including the right to access, correct, or delete data Ezoic holds about you. Use the opt-out links in section 4.2 or contact privacy@ezoic.com directly.
Our backend is hosted in the United States. Ezoic operates servers in multiple regions. If you access our service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.
The data shown on our Google Play listing under "Data safety" is consistent with this policy. Specifically:
If we materially change how we process data, we will update this policy and the "Last Updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify users within the app.
